Working On My Nephew’s First B-Day!

Sat. October 6, 2018

What a night!

I woke up next to the most beautiful person on this Earth this morning. It was a tough one to do with my body feeling weird but I was glad to have been able to open my eyes.

I was not glad for the part when I stood up. I might have woken up a bit tipsy, a little wobbly on my feet. After recounting my night I realized why. I never truly let myself enjoy the buzz of a few drinks. I usually stop after about 3 but last night I let myself out of the cage a bit. The DJ did a really good job last keeping everyone entertained.

Too bad we both had to be at work early this morning. She earlier than me. We could have used the day to recover. Just a little more sleep and I think we would have been good to go for the day. No stopping us though. Work was calling along with the check attached.

Always push through!

On my way to work I stopped Dunkin’ Donuts for a little pick me up. I was groggy, sluggish and all of the above. The pumpkin spice latte I order did wonders on my mood. Because of the espresso I felt a little more life come back to me. I also stuffed my face with an order of waffle tenders and a cup of 10 munchkins. I needed to soak up whatever I had left in my system from last night before work.

Making it to the café, I was ready for nothing. If I had a blanket and pillow I might have fallen asleep on the floor. The coffee helped a little but I was still more tired than not sleeping for 2 days. But I smacked myself up and got right to it.

Since I was a bit sluggish for most of the day my activities consisted of me sitting down whenever I got the chance. I would serve a customer, sit, serve a customer, sit, serve a customer, wash a dish, sit…. and that went on the entire day.

I could not wait to get home!

By 8:25pm I was walking out the door on my way home in the wet mess the sky provided for this Earth. The best part of it was the discovery I made along the way. Since it was raining I decide to turn my windshield wiper on as I should. At that time I realized one of the blades were broken. Thankfully it was on the passenger’s side of the car but I was annoying to see a strip of rubber wiggle across the window.

With excitement I rushed through the door. Today is my nephew’s first birthday. One year ago the little guy was born on this wonderful planet into the lives of loving and caring individuals. Since I had to work I could not celebrate it with the family but he stayed up for me.

The love!

My girlfriend and family had already shown him a bunch of love on his special day. He was the cutest thing ever eating his banana pancakes, playing his birthday balloons and digging into his cake. I was getting pictures throughout the day of his moments.

For about half an hour I played with him. It was way past his bedtime but I had to get some time in with him. After leaving him to rest my girlfriend and I went downstairs to have a really late dinner. Domino’s Pizza at 11pm at night. Not soon after we headed off to bed

Night two of the sleepover.

The Last Wedding of The Year!

Fri. October 5, 2018

The day to come…

I have to say this morning a bad was sign.

I tried to wake up 3 different times. With a different alarm for each one. The first alarm I slept straight through. I did not feel it vibrate, sound or notice it move. This never happens! When I did get up I was shocked but completely dismissed it setting a new alarm for a later time. I still too exhausted to roll out of bed. For the last alarm I set I actually got up. It was 11am and there were thing I had to take of.

Bitmoji ME sleeping

First order of action was the blog. I went straight from the bed to the computer to set up a post for today and tomorrow. I had a long night ahead of me and was not sure if I would be home in time to get the schedule going.

Afterwards I worked on the business getting a few designs ready to print on the merchandise we want to bring out. My goal to sample products is still on the table. I was supposed to set the order today but the guidelines for the prints confused me delaying the actual order.

Then I had to get ready for a wedding we were invited to attend. It was close by so I was not in much of a rush to get going. I even took an hour to shave my face getting every little out of place hair I could find before jumping in the shower.

I should have rushed.

My girlfriend showed up at my house around 2pm and flipped my whole world upside down. Apparently, the invitation was not read too clearly. We thought it was to begin at 2:30 giving us just enough time to make it to the church. After receiving a text message from a friend, we were informed of our mistake. The wedding was to start at 2. We were very wrong.

In a rush to get ready we did our best to look presentable. We left my house within 20 minutes and a short ride later were walking in the church. Thank goodness for multitasking. During the drive we finished getting ourselves together. Every red light was a beauty session.

Bitmoji ME

We literally made it by pure luck. The mass had been a bit delayed giving us time to walk in through the back, not interrupt anyone and grab a seat. I was glad to have made it. The service was great and the bride had the most beautiful dress I have seen yet.

We just had to.

From the church we went headed over to the mall for a light snack along with a few necessities. Since I had missed breakfast and lunch my stomach was achy. It had nothing in it but a few sips of water and the flavor of my gum. As you could image that is not enough to sustain anyone. My girlfriend had also skipped her lunch to get out of work early so she was just as hungry as I was.

After having the worst Nathan’s Famous experience yet, we went on our hunt. We had inquiries for two things. First was a new pair of dress pants for my tuxedo jacket. When I originally bought it, I did not know the pants were required. This was during my pre-blazer interest. With my recent obsession of them, I found out I made a grave mistake. The pants I had on did not quite match the jacket needing a darker pair to bring the entire look together. Unfortunately, I could find any that matched.

The good new was my girlfriend was able to find a push-up bra to go with her dress. She had meant to buy one beforehand but never had the chance too. At least one of us came out victorious.

45 minutes later we at the reception. Right in time for cocktail hour like the last wedding we attending. Just as that one we went right to the open bar to begin our night.

I must say. This was the most enjoyable wedding I had attended yet. We had a great time! The DJ was amazing and kept the whole night moving. There were probably only a handful of songs that I did not like. The rest just kept me on my feet. It was truly a blast.

By 1:30am we were back at my house tired and worn out. The killer part is that we have to wake up at 7:20am for work.

Good times.

A Beautiful Day For People!

Thurs. October 4, 2018

Morning business feels good.

Woke up at 7:30am. Thought about going back to sleep for a bit but decided to brushing my teeth and get my day started. If I can make decisions like this every morning then my productivity level will increase.

While preparing myself to begin writing for tomorrow’s post I listened in on the conference call. Hearing words of wisdom always gets me pumped for the day. Besides that I had 2 hours before I had to be at work so I could be as productive as I wanted. I also wasn’t sure if I would have time for it later because my girlfriend had planned to come over.

Bitmoji ME happy

Begin working.

Around 8:45am I took a break to have a bowl of cereal for breakfast. This is when I was notified by the lady I work with that our original meet time was going to be pushed back. She was at the tire shop getting her wheels serviced. Two of the rims were cracked and had to be welded. It would have been nice to just get a new set but the shop was out of spares.

When 10am came around I left the house to make my way over the meet with her. At first we were going to meet in a parking lot to regroup before the event but then decided to just meet at the event.

Really easy 4 hours.

Not to far from the parking lot we met at Seton Hall University to help celebrate their International Day. We did this event 2 years ago and it was a blast. I expected nothing less this time around.

Before getting started we had to go through a series of inspections. One for health which was a pain to pass and fire which was another pain in itself. The health guy can be a bit off at times but I think he is a nice guy. He just likes to do his job extra well. Fire on the other hand is an awesome guy. He thoroughly checked all of the equipment and might have saved our future lives. Let’s just say the equipment needs to be updated.

From 12 – 3pm the event went on. Within the first 2 hours we had met our contract. We moved the line quicker than we ever have servicing over 200 people. For the last hour we were cleaning up and by 3:15 driving away from the notorious school.

Within 20 minutes I was home in the shower enjoying the nice warm water as it hit my body.

Right after I jumped on the computer to put the finishing touches on my post. Then I tried to nap but my girlfriend had just gotten out of work. After talking a bit we decided she would spend the night at my house. Once again I laid my head down to try and sleep but felt guilty.

The trip.

My father had asked me to take him to get a new pair of sneakers. I turned him down in desperation for some shut eye. But I kept thinking about it and how bad he needed them. The sneakers he wears looks horrible. I got up once again and got dressed.

We took our trip to Walmart to get a pair of shoes. I could not let him leave without two. He destroys shoes without thought so the cheaper the better. I’ve tried to get him expensive stuff in the past but within months $80 goes down the drain. He’s too rough.

Before leaving I treated him and I to a pair of slippers. Since he had 2 pairs of shoes I figure adding slippers to his closet would not hurt. Also bought the latest structure deck from Yu-Gi-Oh!

(photo found on Google images)

Not bad.

On the way home we stopped at Rita’s Italian Ice for the family. 2 vanilla custard cups, 2 gelatis’ and a mixed tray of 4 flavors.

Back home I washed clothes, checkout the cards and got busy with designing for the brand. I have a few hat ideas in mind that came out looking great. Shirts on the other hand not so much. Still working on that.

In bed late once again. 1am.

Annoyed With My Travels But Ended Swell!

Wed. October 3, 2018

The struggle of mornings.

I woke up this morning to listen in on the conference call. My goal of waking up for productivity seems to working. Unfortunately, today I had to take in bed because I physically could not get up. I was so exhausted that I laid there, still, listening, until it ended.

When the call did finish I knew I had no choice. It was 8:10am and I only had 20 minutes to get ready to leave. If I had a normal job with sick days this would have been a time to call out. Rushing around the house I brushed my teeth and got dressed. By the time I walked out of the door it was already past my mark.

Trying to make up for time on the highway I was hit with a time extended traffic jam. I sat in it for 20 minutes with nowhere to go but straight. Normally the longest I ever get stuck for is 10 minutes. I always include that in the amount of drive time I need. I did not plan for the 3 car accident that happened at the exit I needed to take.

With that only being part of the first half of my drive the second half was not any better. Again I thought to myself, “I can make up the time here.” Nope. I was stuck behind a gas truck who was very comfortable in the fast lane. He would not let anyone past him or move over to the lane he should have been in. It took me two towns over to finally get the chance to leave him in the rearview mirror. It was annoying.

But I am safe.

By the time I got to the café it was already 10am which meant I was time. Unfortunately, on time means your late. I had a lot to prep before I could open so I got started in a hurry. Cooking, cutting, cleaning. The same routine just rushed.

For breakfast I ate a cookie the I bought 2 days ago with a delicious cup of coffee. It is fresh brewed by a vendor in the market and has the freshest taste. If my ride was not as long as it is I would not have to stop at Dunkin’ for coffee. The only reason why I do stop is because I get too tired in the morning from driving. Most of the time I need that caffeine kick.

Throughout the day I spoke to the lady I work with over the phone. It was nice of her to keep me company while I walked around my area trying to keep busy. It was a rather slow Wednesday for some reason. Because of it I was able to squeeze in a blog post for tomorrow. Then I pulled out my iPad, laptop and marble notebook to work on my business.

I did some more research on Printful and how to upload files for the products. It seems a bit tedious with each product needing a specific format. I also came across a pretty cool software called Inkscape that I can use for editing vector images. It’s not quite like Adobe Illustrator but it works great on my Intel Atom processor laptop. If it can run it them I most definitely satisfied.

The day never ends.

I started to clean up around 6pm. No later than 7:25pm I was walking out that place with joy. I could not wait to get home. While I was cleaning I came up with a cool design for a hat using a sketch that my Texas buddy came up with. I really wanted to get it on the site for a mock trial to see if it met my expectations. In my head I think it will be a big hit.

I pulled into the driveway of my home at 9pm. Right in time for the Wednesday night conference call. Right after it finished I tried to shower. I say ‘tried’ because I ended up dropping a small brush belonging to my mechanical shaver down the drain while attempting to use it. I tried to fish it out several times but had no luck. In fear of the sink pipe clogging I had to leave my face looking like a mess.

Giving up on the pipe I jumped in the shower.

Once out I went right over to the computer. I needed to make sure my writing was done for the day and get onto Printful. Once my writing was complete I went to grab some tools from the basement. In the bathroom I sat on the floor to empty out the cabinet for a clear view of the pipes. It was time to retrieve my little brush from the danger zone.

(photo found on Google Images)

After pulling it out I was back on the computer. I had to learn how to use the new program for editing vector files. Without the proper formats uploading them to the site might be pointless. According to the website when the designs get printed it might not look as it should. But I did mock trial of the idea I had earlier and it came out great! I am super excited to have it shipped when I finish designing the other products.

Oops, I am up way past my bedtime. So much for a schedule.

What A Beautiful Day To Be Me!

Tues. October 2, 2018

Man, I woke up feeling great.

I listened in on the morning conference call as soon as 7:45am hit my clock. This is one important task that I want to do every Tuesday – Friday morning. I have not had the time to practice my craft in the advising field but the words are still encouraging. I always feel that whatever is said could be applied anywhere. I appreciate Coach taking the time to wake up and provides us with his words.

Since I had time remaining on the clock I went into the kitchen to have breakfast. I do not remember the last time I ate at home before going to work. I have been eating out every morning at various places spending anywhere from $5 – 10. Imagine that over the last 30 days. What a waste of money now that I did the math.

Anyway, I even had time to start writing my post for the day. It felt great not having to be up and out of the house the moment I wake up. Typically, I get up, get dressed and leave with no time for much else. Once in a while I may take 10 minutes to play a game but that’s about it. Today work did not start until 10:15am which is why I was able to get so much done.

The pace I enjoy.

After doing what I could I got ready to go and headed out the door. Roughly 15 minutes later I was sitting in the parking lot of the company we were going to be vendoring for. This was the home office to the company we were at last Thursday. They enjoyed our food over there and wanted to try us out at this location.

Honestly, it felt good to be away from the café. Correction, I was feeling great! It is always a different atmosphere when I am on the truck compared to the cafe. It makes me feel helpful and productive instead of bored on my feet. I guess I’m just used to the fast pace action.

But no matter how good we were feeling it could not last. A wrench had to be thrown into our well oiled gears. We had a surprise fire inspection done that put our prep time to a halt. We were not told that a license was needed for the day by the person who invited us to the company. With that requirement the lady I work with took my car to go get one from the fire station. After she got back, another inspection was done 15 minutes later, this time putting our service to a halt. It was the most complicated inspection we have ever experienced.

(photo found on Google images)

Other than that service was a blast. I actually did work besides standing around and stamping. I did have to stamp in between customers though. We ended up running out of bags and boxes with the company logo on it. If we want to advertise the best way is for them to see it on the packaging.

The joy of being done early.

Around 2:30pm we finished up and shut down. An hour later we were packed up and on our way off the lot. Within 20 minutes I was back home with the rest of the day to myself. I have not been home early in a while and I was thrilled for it.

Since I had half a day left over I took a very nice long shower. I even took a seat in the tub to let the water run on my back for a small massage while playing my new favorite cat game The Battle Cats. At first this game might have been too challenging but now, I am a beast. When I got up to shower I figured I keep the entertainment going so streamed “Dragon Ball” on my phone to knock off another episode. I get closer and closer to the end of the series one day at a time.

After my shower I went right to work. I had to examine the website for future revisions. I finally decided on what products I want to sample. Now all I need are the designs but I might keep it simple and just throw a logo on them for timing purposes. I still have my goal of opening up for Halloween or Christmas the latest. My Texas buddy and I have been too busy or tired to do anything but I will be pushing from this moment on.

With that being said I might be pushing too hard. Physically drained and forcing myself to stay awake I ended up falling asleep sitting up in my chair for 5 minutes. I thought I had blinked but when I looked at the clock time had actually gone by.

To give myself a boost I had a cup of Rita’s Italian Ice while folding clothes I had in a laundry bag for the past few months. I never got around to putting them away and was glad to do it today. I also finished watching the latest season on Netflix of “Blacklist.” I have to say, I never saw it coming. Ms. Kean is turning towards the dark side.

Communication is key.

To finished the night off my girlfriend came over around 8pm. We played with the nephew for a bit before giving him up to my sister so we could have dinner. After digesting we laid in bed where we had a heart to heartSince we do not see each other as often as we would like there were a few feelings that needed to be expressed. It made me realize that we are both destined for true success but we need to make room for the loving moments we desire. I would not say we neglect each other but we could use a date night once a week.

It was a very good conversation that we both appreciated.

I loved my day.

Business As Usual!

Mon. October 1, 2018

Woke up early like I have be planning to do. It feels good to be putting myself on a schedule but I must admit that it is harder than I thought it would be.

By 8:20am I began my trip to the café.

When I got there the lady I work with was already walking around mingling with the other vendors. Last night we had dropped off her trailer at a nearby fire station for safety reasons. The bracket holding the leaf spring to the axle had broken and driving it at night for an hour trip was not an option. Since she had dropped off the trailer at a local mechanic she drove over to the café to meet me and wait for word on its repair.

(photo found on Google images)

While I set up for the day she began to wash the dishes from last night. After having breakfast, I took over the washing while she punched a few numbers into an Excel spreadsheet. Good business practice is keeping an organized file on the activity done. I should actually start doing the same for the new business my Texas buddy and I have started.

Around noon I had finished the dishes and at that time we packed up her truck so she could leave and pick up the trailer. Somehow the mechanic was able to fix it within the few hours she had left it. To me, for a job like that, he was quick.

Almost did not make it.

Alone for the rest of the day I did little things around the area to keep busy. Stamped some bags – same as yesterday -, boxes, organized a few things and watched a lot of seafood cooking videos on YouTube. I really enjoy this one channel, Travel Thirsty. I also started to play a new game called The Battle Cats that has my interest in the worst way possible. It is a strategy game involving destructive cats and it is addicting.

Battle Cats

(photo found on Google images)

Around 6pm I started to clean up. While doing so I streamed “Dragon Ball” to keep me entertained. It was awesome to watch. I finally got to one of my favorite parts of the anime when Fortuneteller Baba invites the young fighters to a match. I was extremely excited for it to the point where I was laughing and making weird noises by myself. Good thing no one was around. They would have thought something was wrong with me.

(photo found on Google images)

By 7pm I was closed up for good. A half an hour later I was basically running out of the door. The cleaning lady for the Market and I had a bit of miscommunication. She left me in the building alone with no key to lock the door. During our somewhat of a conversation I told her I would turn of the lights to my section. I believe she understood that as I will lock up the entire building. The one time I do not have the key to the place I almost get stuck in a really bd position. If I would have been a few seconds longer she would have pulled right out of the parking lot. I was lucky enough to catch her pulling out of her parking spot.

The fear in me.

An hour later I was home setting up the blog for tomorrow. I also picked out my article for Wednesday. Then I went for it. In the darkness I chose to entertain myself. For the first time I was going to start the new game I bought a week or so ago. The thriller Transference. At first it was great. Look for this, put this here, read that, walk over there. But out of nowhere the story picked up quick. The hair on my body would stand at full attention after every scene. Then around 1am the biggest scare yet happened and I shut it down.

(photo found on Google images)

After the frightening moment I could not handle the game anymore. I did not even wait for the next save point. I will have to replay that part but I am now very prepared for it. Great start so far!

Always On The Move!

Sun. September 30, 2018

Woke up a bit late today not wanting to get out of bed. My body was sore all over as if I had been hit by bus and in recovery. Just rolling over from one side of the bed to the other was painful. The only thought I had in my head was why?

I could not let it stop me. The best thing I could think of was to push through it and wake my body up with force. I immediately regretted doing it but I had no choice. The café was calling my name. Pulling me in closer with responsibility. “I need to open it.”

Along the way I had to stop. I was desperate for caffeine to help keep my eyes open. The 40 minutes I drove made me more tired than usual. At my midway pitstop, Dunkin’ Donuts, I ordered a pumpkin spice latte, waffle tenders and a pumpkin muffin. I also woke up seriously hungry. The entire drive my stomach out played the radio. It was a rumble like no other.

Bitmoji ME coffee

Within the walls.

Early at the café I did my thing with the new burner we got yesterday. The thing is a double burner and works perfectly. The only down fall is that it is made for small pots. I use a pretty big wok and very big steamer so fitting them both on there takes a bit of finesse.

For lunch I went with my new favorite turkey sandwich from Politi’s Cheeses & Meats. Compared to the last few I have eaten this one was a bit different. Instead of being served on a form of roll it was on an almost toast like bread. It was crunchy and fluffy at the same time. I think the edges might have even had cheese on them. I honestly have never seen or eaten anything like it and I loved it. I believe it was just a temporary thing until they received more of the usual bread but I would not mind have it the same way again.

While digesting I took a few minutes to write out my blog post for the day. Normally I would type it up on my laptop or iPad but today I did it through my phone. It was less obvious and actually more efficient being in my hand. Who knew writing an essay on the phone would be easy?

Getting back to work I stamped a few bags for entertainment. They were sitting on a cart with the package half opened so I figured why not do a few of them.

Let the trips begin.

Around 5:30pm I left the café and was replaced by someone else. I needed to meet with the lady I work with so we could pack up the trailer and move it off of the school property. Today was the last day of the arts festival and it could not stay on the premises.

With the axle loose, broken, getting it off the sidewalk was a scary challenge. Holding our breath, we waited for all 4 tires to hit pavement. The sound it made, a big clung, was terrifying. We were afraid it might have snapped. Luckily it held and we were only driving another 2 minutes to a fire station.

The chief was nice enough to let us leave the trailer parked on the property until the morning when something more could be done with it. While there we emptied it out as best as possible to preserve whatever food we could.

Back at the café we unloaded her pickup and packed it in the fridges as best as possible. Then we headed back to the fire station for round two.

When we got there we noticed the fire station was lit up and a few guys were standing around talking. After throwing ideas off of each other, the lady and me, I thought it would be helpful if the fire men could provide us with some assistance. I hoped they could fix the trailer the same way they do their trucks but I was ahead of myself.

Luckily, she asked. They could not fix the trailer but one of the guys was helpful enough to try and find someone who could. He made a few calls and was able to get a response back from his boss at his second job. The boss agreed to come take a look at it in the morning. If he can fix it temporary he said he would. Just enough to drive it an hour away to the actual mechanic is all that was requested. Tomorrow we will see.

What a night.

Once again at the café it was about 7:15pm and the three of us – the person who replaced me, the lady I work with, and I – cleaned up as quick as possible. After a while the replacement left. The lady I work with and I stayed to finish up. An hour later we left.

Taking my drive home, I realized that I had missed dinner. I could feel my stomach empty and hollow. I originally wanted Chick-Fil-A but as I was a few minutes away from it I remembered they are closed on Sunday. Upset with myself for not thinking of it sooner I had to settle with McDonalds. I was alright with it because I got to see an insane truck driver hauling a big load.

When I finally arrived home I ate, did a bit of writing for WordPress and went straight to bed.

A Nice Saturday In Town!

Sat. September 29, 2018

I woke up early again which is a shocker but I need to get a sleep schedule going. My plan is to be in bed by 12am and up by 7:30 no matter what. I used to love this time frame in the past because it helped a lot with getting my writing done. The earlier I woke up, the sooner I got it done, the more time I could put into other things. Now it is different but I am confident that I can return to it.

Since I was up early I enjoyed 10 minutes of Dragon Ball Legends while I sat on the toilet listening to the water run for my morning brush. The game was being updated all day yesterday so I had a small withdrawal from not being able to play it. I literally play it every day without fail unless the game itself is not available. Crazy I know.

(photo found on Google images)

Sum it up.

I left the house by 8:30am to take my nice long drive to the café. Along the way I made a stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for a muffin and coffee. It had been a long time since I ordered one.

Dunkin’ also did something cool. They celebrated National Coffee Day by giving out a free cup of coffee with every purchase of one. I did not take advantage of the free cup since I was only one person but I appreciate them for offering it. Good job guys!

I made it to the café 10 minutes early. Thankfully too because I needed to prep for the day. I did not think I would need much but I wanted to keep things fresh.

Then out of nowhere I had a camera delivered to me by the son of the lady I work with. She told me she was going to buy one but I did not think I was for the café. It is smart though. Monitoring her space provides an extra level of comfort with leaving the equipment in the market.

Since her son was with me we hung out for a few minutes until he took his walk back to the high school that is 10 minutes away. An arts festival was being held on the school grounds for the weekend. She was invited to participate. If I did not have to man the café I would have been there as well.

Throughout the day I was back and forth cooking and prepping. I actually needed more food than I originally thought. On top of that I had to leave the café twice to provide some aid. Once to drop off rice and peppers and the other to meet her son half way up the street with half a case of water.

Around 6:45pm she and her son showed up with a box of dishes. Yay, I get to do something I really hate. But I sucked it up because she still had shopping to do for tomorrow, day 2 of the event, and I do not do them often. I am pretty sure tomorrow will make 3 days in a row. I really give her credit for doing them every day.

After finishing everything up I headed home a little after 9pm. It took longer than normal to clean up with the extra dishes. By 10:30 I was in the house taking a shower.

Before hitting the pillows, I wrote this.

I definitely need to lotion up more often. All of that soap and water does not do justice for my hands.
