Up at 4:30am.
Loaded up the truck.
On the way to the farm we visited the same gas station from Thursday with the Dunkin‘ Donuts convenience store for breakfast. Since our little pit stop we made it a bit late. Not that many people were there early except for the staff who started at 4am so we were okay. They usually do not rush us for anything but always let us know what they want for when we open.
The last couple of days I have been leaving her to get ice from a Stop and Shop that is about 12 minutes away from the stable. We need it to cool off our drinks since it was well over 85 degrees with the sun beaming down on us. Today on the way back I got stuck without a GPS and ended up getting lost. For some reason my phone would not connect to my provider forcing me to drive off of instinct. I did not do too well but I made it even though it took me over an hour. Normally it is a quick shot back and forth. The lady I work with even called me to find out where I was because she was worried.
Horses can dance.
At the farm we were more consistent than yesterday. It was not as busy but the wave if people would not stop. They came one after another in between each of the classes. (The division in which each competitor is a part of.) They ate, drank, rode and came back to do it over. It was good.
From where we were set up we could see half of the track and part of the show. I loved watching the riders as they bonded with the horse. It was as if they were a single unit. Happy, energetic and passionate. My favorite part was when the horse would skip in almost a dancing fashion.
By 4:30pm we were packing up. The crowd had died down to about 10 people or less and our service seemed to be over. The past couple of day we have waited till the very end but for an hour we sat around doing nothing. It was waste of time so we took the advantage to leave early.
The shopping ritual.
On the way back to her house we stopped at the market again. We need vegetables from H-Mart to keep things fresh. If there is one thing that I am proud of the most, it has to be the freshness of what we do. We were in and out compared to yesterday. The only time consuming part of being there was waiting in line. Since it is Saturday and most people are off from work, the market was busy.
At the house around 7:30pm, I was in the shower. The two of us had unloaded everything quickly since she did not purchase much. Soon after she was done cleaning things up we sat at the kitchen table and drank Sangria with cake. We had picked up a few pastries from Paris Baguette that tasted amazing. I had something along the lines of a mascarpone cheesecake tiramisu. I do not remember exactly what it was called but I was glad to have it. We enjoyed our dinner. (extremely unhealthy.)
About an hour later I was officially asleep. I even woke up at 4:15am to write in my journal. I knocked out soundly.
