Needed Freedom With A GPS!

Sat. July 7, 2018

All day in one place sucks.

I like to think of myself as a bird that needs a different scenery after every land. Just waking up and knowing I will be caged upsets me a bit. But it did not stop me.

Weekends at the pier can be a bit boring if the right vendors are not around and the crowd is small. I honestly like working this location but during the weekend my whole attitude changes. I do not know why I dislike it so much but if I could be anywhere else I would rather be there.

Good morning!

My day started off with the little dog by side as I put together his bowl of food. I spent about 15 minutes with him until I had to leave. I never know how traffic will be on the way to Hoboken so I leave an hour in advance. “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late. If you’re late, don’t show up.”

On the way to town I thought about the possibilities for breakfast. I could have gone to one of two cafés I like, my new favorite bagel shop O Bagel or kept it simple with DDs. Stopped at a traffic light I studied my options on the GPS. The cafés were not on my route and bagel place was too far for the time I had. Luckily along the way was a Dunkin Donuts. A really hard one to locate if you follow the GPS.

Thanks to the poor navigation, I was parked a block away from the store. It was also down a one way where I could not drive. Thanks Google. After going down two more blocks and then back over I was able to double park, run in and order with speed. Cinnamon raisin bagel and a pistachio frozen coffee. As fast as I ordered they served it. I was impressed.

Back on route and within 6 minutes at the parking garage where I leave my car. I never knew that a Dunkin’ existed so close. If I knew that it was there I probably would have purchased my coffee from them often over the past 3 years. Good to know for the future. After parking and paying the meter I took my usual walk to the pier.

I was full and energized to start this day.

On the pier I got right to work. Throughout the day we were very steady. Surprisingly since the previous weekends have not been so good. The lady I work with and I actually planned on watching a movie today. A scary one called “IT.” She is terrified of the book and I am terrified of the old movies so we thought watching it together would be easier on the both of us. Unfortunately, we did not watch it but we were greatly satisfied not having time for it.

By the end of the night I was exhausted. The moment 11pm came around we shut down. Not much after that we left. I got to my girlfriend’s house around 12:45am after getting lost. I thought I knew my way but it turned out that I needed the GPS more than I thought.

Sleepy time.

While in the apartment I began to clean around the kitchen and straighten up the living room. I planned on giving the entire place a good cleaning tomorrow but apparently I do not listen very well. I was under the assumption that my girlfriend and her family would be getting back on Monday. This afternoon I was corrected leaving myself in a panic to leave the apartment looking better than how they left it. They actually get back tomorrow, morning leaving me with no extra day.

Right now, I am way too tired to finish anything so I am going to hop in the shower and hopefully be in bed by 3am.

I also have to wake up at early to pick them up from the airport. It will be a nap night instead of actual sleep.
