Taking A Nap Can Be Productive!

Thurs. June 7, 2018

Chilly morning.

I grabbed a hat and walked out the door to move my car at 7am. I could not find a jacket and was half asleep, to tired see straight. As the back door opened I was hit with a rush a wind. The moment I got in my car I put on a spare sweater I had in the back seat. Back inside and in my bed, I closed my eyes for about an hour before being woken up by my alarm. It was time get started.

Up and at it, I went straight to my desk. For about half an hour I did a few things on WordPress such as reading posts, changing the AMP design and scheduling my post for the day. Then I got dressed and made myself a cup of coffee. It has been a while since I made coffee in my home. I forgot how different and possibly better the taste is compared to a chain coffee shop. To go with it I heated up the apple crumb donut from yesterday. It never made it into my belly last night but was perfect for breakfast.

Out of the house by 9:20am.

I was meeting the lady I work with at a Verizon headquarters today. I felt it was going to be a good day with the weather being in the best temperature bracket, low 70s. The sun poked out every so often and the breeze was refreshing. When I got there, we set up right away. Afterwards I stepped away to use the restroom. On my way up the stairs to the entrance of the building there were several tents being put popped and tables being set. Vendors or a raffle? I could not tell but it looked interesting.

As I predicted there were many people. As always, they were patient. During the service it did not seem to busy and I thought it was because I was moving slow. Not on purpose but the demand was high and I could not keep up. But at the end of the day when the numbers were tallied, we were pretty leveled. The numbers matched or came close to previous times we were there. Great job.

We were so beat up from our efforts that we sat down for 30 minutes to relax and eat. For 3 hours it was constant to the point where we did not even drink. Our mouths were dry, stomachs growling and legs tired.

The end!

By 3:30pm we headed our separate ways. It took me 45 minutes to get to my neighborhood. I wanted to go straight home but I needed gas. The $10 I put in 2 days ago was a mistake. I never put in so little but that night I wanted to get home quickly and was too impatient to sit there. Today I filled it up!

Home in the shower to wash off the sweat from today’s labor. The best feeling is running water over my body. Once done I was back in front of the computer to finish up my task from earlier. Then I took a nice hour and a half nap from 7 – 8:30pm. I needed the rest.

I woke up with my stomach rumbling and it would not stop. I tried my best to ignore it so I could get an extra half an hour of sleep but it annoyed me. When I got up I could feel my body sore. It felt like a stiff balloon if that makes any sense. The only way I could describe it is my body felt inflated but heavy at the same time. It was tired as if I did not nap long enough. I could not even hold a pen. Once my hands became usable again I served myself a plate of dinner and watched the Japanese wine drama “Kami no Shizuku while I ate. Then back on the keyboard to close things up for the night.

In bed by 1am. I decided to play a Fire Emblem Heroes on my phone. Not sure how I like it. I wish the voices were in Japanese.
