My nephew is going to be a lady killer!
I got in after my sister last night, meaning that my car was blocking her in the driveway. At 7am I had to get up to move it. On the way out the door I saw my nephew for 2 seconds. He was dressed in the cutest outfit I have seen on him yet. He wore a polo onesie, tan shorts and had on matching white booties. I am more than confident that he will come home with a few play dates set up.
Back inside from moving and still tired. I had an extra hour to rest so I laid in bed until my 8:30 alarm went off. Unfortunately, it did not work out as planned. My sisters dog barked the entire time so no matter how bad I wanted to sleep I just laid still with my eyes closed. At least my body got rest.
Finally up I got ready for work. Before leaving I sat at the kitchen table and ate bowl of Fruity Pebbles. A great childhood cereal that I could eat forever. I also took my multivitamin with it. Why is it recommended with food if it is a vitamin? I thought only medicine was taken with food. I should Google it.
9:30am. Day 2 working doubles.
Another long one today with a heavier workload. First up was at Verizon headquarters. We come to this location about once a month when space is available. Today things were really looking good. It was nice and hot. The company even had someone come out and set up Olympic Day theme with a few games. It reminded me of my elementary school day. Besides us they even had a few other vendors with great food.
For 2 hours we were non-stop busy. The more we finished the more came. It was as if the company was endless. But everyone was patient which made things move a lot smoother. I also believe we are extremely loved there because of how people actually go out their way to look for us. They check the social media, lock in dates and write list of food to take home. I see some of the same faces once a month without a doubt. It is like we have our own little client base within the massive building. But it could be my imagination.
4:30pm. The same as yesterday.
Before heading to our next location for dinner we stopped at 99 Ranch once again. This time for a few things for tomorrow night. For tonight we were set and ready to go.
But I could not just leave. There is always one thing that I have to do if I want to walk out the exit door. My 99 Ranch ritual, CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice. I had it yesterday but it does not matter how many times a week I enter 99 Ranch, I must get a drink. Today’s beverage was a mango Yakult. The day is well over 80 degrees and this drink is refreshing in so many ways.
Standing in front of the market we decide to get something to eat instead of what we already had. Within the shopping complex was a Popeyes. We figure ordering something for takeout would be a good choice. It was really her idea considering all she wanted was a biscuit and I was satisfied with my drink. Granted the biscuits are the best part of the meal but I have to be in the mood to actually enjoy their food.
5pm. At last!
Finally at our last shift we set up for business. While we waited for people to walk by we picked at the meal from Popeyes. She had ordered half spicy and half regular chicken but either the cashier did not pass on the message or we have no taste buds. But she had hot sauce and a biscuit with honey so she did not care. I had some fries to start off with. I was more interested in my drink from CoCo than food so I saved it for later.
Compared to earlier service was slow. Typically it is so it was not a shock. But we always hope for the best. You never know until you know. One day we might just be surprised.
But what was a surprise is how quickly set packed up. We shut down at 8:30pm, actually on time, and hit the road home by 9. I was so glad to be getting home early that I had my music on loud and did the happy dance the entire drive.
After the piece of chicken around 6pm I never had dinner. As soon as I got home, I sat on my floor and ate while watching DashieGames on the big screen. By 11:30 I was ready for bed but for reason got caught up with Word and ended up in bed by 1am.
There is still hope to sleep early tomorrow. (Maybe not.)

Back to the grind!
Today is going to be a long one. The lady I work with and I will be working a double but they seem easy. To get the day started off I woke up at 8:30am and jumped right into my clothes. I put on workout joggers with the elastic band around the ankle and a V-neck t-shirt. The joggers will come in handy when it gets hot because they can be pulled up for air with ease. Then to the kitchen where I had a bowl of Frosted Flakes to be paired with my vitamin before heading out.
10:30am. First up!
On the way to the first location I made a pitstop at Starbucks. Normally I would have gotten a coffee but it was already hot leaving my throat dry for something else. Besides that, a new item on the menu caught my eye. I picked up an iced Americano for her and a peach citrus white tea for myself. Since it was new to me, I did not know if it would taste good so to play it safe I order a medium. One sip and I knew next time I would be getting a large!

About 2 minutes away I pulled into the parking lot of a Wayfair warehouse. I did not ask why we were there but it might have been for some form of employee appreciation. They were playing catch with a football, kicking around a soccer ball and truly each other’s company. For an hour we served whoever came out. For a big place, not many people were around. It might have been for a single department now that I think about it. Either way it was nice to be a part off.
2:30pm. Making our way!
We had about 3 or 4 hours before our next shift started. That gave us plenty of time to restock and prepare.
First stop, the one and only, 99 Ranch. Whenever we need to kill time or pick up miscellaneous items we stop there. But things were different today. We actually went shopping for things that we needed right away and not tomorrow or the day after. We did not just walk around waiting for time pass but actually filled up a cart making it almost impossible to push.
On the way out, we stopped at what has become a ritualistic spot for drinks, Coco Fresh Tea & Juice. For a nice hot day like today, I picked up a large caramel milk tea with lychee jelly. To finish off our shopping list we made one more stop at another market about 2 minutes away. We needed vegetables and H-Mart had a bigger, cheaper selection.
4pm. I do not need my car.
Our next location was about 30 minutes from her house. Since we were at the markets by her house it seemed smarter to drop off my car and ride in together. As I was parking in the driveway her son comes out to greet me. I thought he was still in school so it was a good surprise. He had a buddy over and was getting ready to head out when I showed up. While he finished getting dressed we talked for a bit. On the way out the door I got to test his new longboard. He recently started riding and so far is way better than I ever was. It felt good to test it. Different from what I am used to but more my style. I have not ridden one in about a year and it might be time for a new board. I always wanted a Nickel!
5pm. Second location, Westin hotel?
I have never heard of the Westin. It was my first time ever seeing its logo and hearing the name. I am used to the popular names like the Hilton, Hampton, or Marriot.
Finally parked and set up we were ready to serve the masses. I believe it was the same occasion like earlier, employee appreciation. This time it was very different with a very different crowd. There were no footballs, soccer balls, or any sport activities. The only outdoors fun they had were wine and paint. Or as I like to call it, booze and paint. It was an awesome concept that I have never witnessed. Usually people are indoors eating and mingling but this was way better. I even wanted to join!
The night went surprisingly well. It was easy and no stress. There were not as many people as I originally thought but I had no complaints. The people that were there, were friendly, cooperative and entertaining to be around. For 3 hours of work it went by like 1. They really made the time fly.
By 9:45pm we were on our way back to her house. I needed to get my car so I could get home. In 30 minutes were parking out front and unloading what was dirty and what we did not use. After helping out I headed home. After an 80 degree day I was sweaty and sticky. Around 11 I was set for a shower. Once my body squeaked I got out and jumped on the PC to type things up.
Off to bed by 1am.

My one day a week with the nephew!
Third day in a row off. It has been like a mini ‘staycation’ (vacation but at home). Went on a date, took a trip to the mall and today I am spending some quality time with my nephew. We were up at 8am ready to enjoy each other’s company. As he drank his bottle I laid next to him and watched as he wiggled around with it in his hands. He has figured out how to drink without actually holding it so once he finds a good spot against the pillow, it is all hands OFF deck. That way he can drink and still have his hands available for his toys. He is a smart one.
Once he finished the bottle I hoped he would fall right to sleep. But he did not. While he laid in his playpen rattling his teething keys, I took the opportunity to read a few pages of my book. After a few minutes he finally falls asleep. Just when I thought he was going to be out for a few hours, he wakes up within 20 minutes. Even with my attempt to put him back to sleep his eyes were wide open staring at me with joy.
I gave up after a while. He made me come to the realization that he was not going back to sleep. He had things to say and toys to fling around. The busy life of a 7 month old. To keep us more entertained I turned on the TV to see what was giving. Normally we, him and I, would be asleep at 9:30 in the morning so I had no idea what was giving. Flipping through the guide I spotted “Paw Patrol” and clicked right on it.
He played and watched TV for 2 and a half hours until his mood drastically changed. I could tell he was tired but still wanted to be awake. He cried, rubbed his eyes, pouted but even with my attempt to make him sleep he stood his ground. By the time 11:30 rolled around I had his soft food defrosting in hot water. It took too long to become edible. I could not stand to hear him cry anymore so I put it away for later and handed him a bottle. After drinking it is when he officially fell asleep. He could not handle himself anymore.
Looks who’s up!
Around 3:10pm he wakes up. The happiest I have seen all day. It is interesting how a baby’s mood can shift so rapidly from smiling to crying because of sleep deprivation. Sometimes it is cute.
With a full 3 hours of sleep under his imaginary belt it was time to eat again. This time I had the food defrosted and ready to go before he fully woke up. My mistake earlier was having him wait. That will not happen again. With that being said, we had a blue bowl filled with two yummy treats. On one side laid bananas and on the other sweet potatoes. Personally, I am not a fan of the red sweet potatoes but the white one is a whole other story. But he likes it and that’s what matters. After wiping his face, I placed him back in his playpen and handed him a 6-ounce bottle to wash it down. He is a heavy eater. Just like the rest of us.

The itis hit!
He fell back to sleep around 5pm. With everything he ate I did not blame him. He was not out for too long, only until 7. His mother was home and he sensed her. As soon as she sat down to enjoy a plate of ice cream cake he woke up staring out the window trying to adjust his vision. I stood there and watched him. I was curious to know if he would fall back out but then he found me and smiled.
I have been gaming way too much lately.
The rest of the night was all to myself. I had a delicious dinner which consisted of white rice, beans, and fried pork. While I ate, two episodes of “Blindspot“ streamed on the TV. (This show is getting insanely good) After enjoying my meal, the show and digesting I jumped in the shower to get ready for tomorrow. Then I hoped in the PS4 for some fun time.
It started off good. I played with my best friend and streamed a couple of games of Fortnite. That is until I was ditched for him to play with another streamer who is also a friend. It was mutual though. I really wanted to try out a game that I had download earlier in the day, H1Z1. I have no clue what the game is about expect for you have to gather gear, survival and take out other player. Basically, Fortnite without the cartoon characters. It was actually really bad. Did not enjoy and after one match quit the entire game. I hope to never play it again.
Finally ending the night with a failed attempt to play Call of Duty. I could not connect with my Texas buddy. Our connections were so bad that neither of us could carry the other. Meaning I could not host a game nor could he. So, we ended the night with a great conversation and left the gaming alone.
In bed by 12:45am.

I have the day off. What to do? What to do?
As usual I had to move my car resulting in my eyes opening at 7 in morning. With no rush or need to do a thing I laid back in bed for about a half an hour playing my new favorite mobile game, Dragon Ball Legends. As I was trying to understand the game further I realized that so much more could be done than originally thought. I can power up my characters beyond their normal amount, way beyond it. Typical Dragon Ball logic. I like how the creators incorporated that aspect into the game.
I set an alarm for 10am and went back to sleep. I must have been really tired because I slept through it until 11:30. As comfortable as I was my plans were a bit ruined. I wanted to start by going to the park for a run but I skipped it to make up for time. I went right to house work. I washed clothes, straightened up a bit and put together some shoes that do not fit for either the trash or Good Will.
Afterwards I had a late breakfast which was basically a snack, a small pastry. Then started a new page of writing which was released yesterday. It is about an amazing commencement speech by Ben Nemtin that he gave at the University of Utah. It really spoke words to me, I cried. It was inspiring, motivating, and well put. Perfect for the new Motivation page.
Can I get enough? Probably not.
The plan was to stay in an enjoy some me time but I was torn. I am so used to being out, that being in gets boring. It is probably the reason why I am so tired all the time. My body cannot handle the activity but I push through anyway.
My girlfriend came over around 2:30pm ready to head out. I was nowhere near ready to do anything. I knew she would be by soon but it happened to soon. She has been taking advantage of my days off which I appreciate. When I work, I work, so seeing her can be difficult. Within minutes I got ready and we headed out.
Around 4pm we pulled in the parking lot of the closest mall to me. I wanted to go to Express to see the inventory. They had nice blazers online that I wanted to try on. After getting arms through a few, I found the perfect fit. I would have bought it too but the prices were out of my budget and there were no sales on them. Have to check back in a week or so. I also wanted to get new work shoes but the mall did not have what I needed. My girlfriend on the other hand, bought new stud earrings to pair up with her old ones. They took a while to find but she was happy.
Since all I had to eat was a pastry it was time for something a bit meatier. The mall we went to is a favorite of mine for one reason, Chick-fil-A. It is right there as you walk and never has a line during the time I go. The order got a bit crazy for one person. I ordered a spicy chicken deluxe sandwich, chicken nuggets with their sweet barbeque sauce, waffle fries and a cookies and cream milkshake. It was a feast meant for a king. My lady had Haagen-Dasz ice cream. We were two different pages.
Back home to see the baby.
We left the mall at 5:30pm. With traffic I figured a half hour would be a good amount of time for the drive. Even though it was packed bumper to bumper it moved smoothly. Unfortunately, the holdup was due to a car accident. Someone had driven off of the road into a tree filled ditch. The damage was extensive. I hope they made out in one piece.
By 6:30 I was ready once again to head out. It is training night so to the office I went. The session was went great. I did get some backlash for missing a few days but it was well deserved. How can I grow a business if I’m not preparing properly? I took a lot from tonight and appreciate everyone in my corner.
Before heading home I made a stop at Dunkin’ Donuts. Normally I would get something before getting to the office but I did not have enough time to do so. Besides it ended being a chilly night. I had no jacket, my stomach was rumbling and I had a very disappointing cup of coffee the other day, so why not.
I walked through the door of my room by 10pm ripping off my shirt and pants. I wanted nothing more than to get comfortable. I love dressing in business attire but sometimes it can be to restricting. I sat at desk with my coffee and donut in hand enjoying the late-night evils. To finish off on a good note, I jumped on Call of Duty: World at War with my Texas buddy. Then we switched over to join my best friend as he streamed. It was a great night.
I started to take a multi-vitamin/multi-mineral for my fruit and vegetable deficiency. Seems to be good. Also, inside joke, Mr. Coffee Pot was amazing!
