Getting up was a challenge.
On top of going to bed late I had to wake up early for work. I tried my best to get up at 7:45am but my eyes and body would not budge. I slept until 8:35 but it was not enough. If I could stay home I would sleep all day to recharge my body.
I even woke up feeling sick, AGAIN. Runny nose, sore throat, and feeling heavy. In my attempt to feel better I made a cup of ginger honey tea. With the temperature changing so frequently lately I think my body has not been able to keep up. Instead of having cereal for breakfast I thought an actual semi-healthy meal would be better so I made Quakers raisin oatmeal for the drive to work.
Speaking about the weather change, it is a nice day out. Warmer than I expected it to be but not enough to leave the jacket at home.
I worked close to home today.
Usually to get to the location it would take me about 25 minutes. For some reason at 9:30 in morning people were still on the road making their ways to work. I am use to being one of the few cars at this time so it caught me off guard. It took me a little over half an hour to get through traffic arriving a few minutes after 10.
Today was a joint operation with 4 other businesses. We were at an office complex with buildings ranging from A – D. As beautiful as the day was, before even beginning I knew we would be busy. Even knowing that I was not prepared for what came. In a half an hour, 30 minutes, we were overrun by the hungry office workers. Between my sluggish body and volume of people it was rough. Literally from 12 – 12:30pm we worked the most. The remaining hour and a half we serviced the stragglers who worked though their lunch.
Last year we were invited to serve these buildings but the weather was below 40 degrees, windy and we were moved into the middle of a parking lot where no one was brave enough to walk to. This time we were in a small blocked off section right by the cafeterias back door. Perfect spot.
Around 330 I was headed home.
Got home within a half an hour feeling good from working but horrible health wise. I get sick once a year but this is now the second time. Either I am getting older or I need to eat healthier. As I showered I tried to give myself a steam bath. Steam helps clear the congested parts of the body allow for a free passage of air. It worked at the time but it seemed I was more congested than I thought. The moment the steam went away I my nose stock piled. Not good!
After my failed attempt to clear up my sinuses I decide to work on the throat. I made myself another cup of tea this time with lemon Halls cough drop. Relief was minor but it made me feel good. Around 6pm I could not tolerate being awake anymore so I set an alarm and took a nap. I must have been more tired than I thought because I slept through two alarms for an extra hour. I did not wake up until 8:30 when I subconsciously was expecting my alarm to go off.
I could not believe I slept through two alarms.
Finally up, I went to the kitchen to make another cup of tea. That makes three for the day but I need a lot more. I believe that natural tea is a great remedy for almost anything internally off. Whether it be a cold or upset stomach the first thing I try is a cup of tea.
While I drank I finished my edits from last night. I only had to review so it was quick and easy. At 11pm I decided to play Fortnite with my friends. It had been a week or so since our last gaming session so it felt good to relax with them. By 12:30 I was finished and in bed ready for some more sleep.
