Woke up with inner alarm today. Great sign that my body is getting back to normal.
On my conference call at 7:45am sharp. It felt good to be able to listen with the intent to learn. Being sick in the morning while trying to listen to someone talk and not sleep is rough.
I will be spending the day with my nephew again, just the two of us. It is a bit chilly in the house and to my surprise the thermostat is set to 68. Way too low for Winter with a baby so I turn that thing up to 75 degrees and the space heater on max. I have to make sure my little buddy is warm.
While he eats I check out my planner to review the days activities. Since I am sick doing little helps my body rest. But I cannot do nothing either.
The baby falls asleep at 10. My eyes are weighing on me so I follow a half hour later. When we wake up it is time for lunch. He had an amazing bottle of formula while I enjoyed the leftovers from last nights dinner. Normally I would like fresh food but trying to resist Carne Guisada is like resisting a drug, nearly impossible.
This week’s theme has been house work. I washed another load of clothes finally catching up with the laundry basket. I am so happy that the washer is fixed. While I waited for them to wash I read a few pages of this month’s book, “StrengthFinder 2.0“.
Time to tag out!
Mother comes home around 5:30pm and watches the baby while I take a nap. I swear I do not want to sleep but my body forces me into submission. With my arm twisted behind my back, I am laid on the bed as if it is a wrestling mat.
I wake up at 7:15 to get ready for an appointment with a friend at 9. I shower up and shave my caveman face. Dressed to impress with a pinch of professionalism in black pants, a white button up shirt, and wing tipped shoes. Right on time and out the door.
I got there 10 minutes early, my mentor arriving shortly after. My on time was too early, we sat in the car for 15 minutes before she arrived. The meeting went well. I learned a new presentation on the importance of investing and investing in the right vehicles. Mutual funds, Roth IRAs, and 401ks are very interesting.
Way past 10pm and I am starving!
On my way I made a pit stop at McDonald’s for a quick bite. I do not usually eat their food but it works for late night snacks when no one else around is open. I ordered a 10 piece of chicken nuggets, medium fries, and a strawberry-banana smoothie.
Home by 10:45 and cannot wait to dig in. As I eat my big kids meal Fortnite loads up on the TV. The crew has a head start on me by a few games. I come in for last hour or so. Around 12am everyone disbands for bed but not my Texas friend and me. We are champs who spontaneously jump on Far Cry 5 till our eyes become too heavy to see clearly. Invisible airplanes cut the night short.
