Sick Chronicles (part 1)

March 31, 2018

Oh! I woke up feeling horrible. I don’t usually get sick but today I feel wacky. My head is pounding, my body is sore and my throat is on fire.

I told myself to stay in bed but ignored it. Up at 6:45 in the morning and regretting every step I take. With every movement I feel a part of my body sting. Just putting on socks was a challenge.

As I head to the office there is thermal in my right hand filled with ginger honey tea. A great combination for fighting any cold. I arrived at the office a bit early still debating whether or not I should be there. I sat in my car for five minutes before deciding to enter. As I took my seat chills ran through my body. There was no way my focus was going to be present. Throughout the next four hours all I desired was a warm blanket and heater.

I got home around 11:30 and beelined to my bed. Turned my heater on max, put a sweat suit on and laid in bed with two fleece blankets covering me. Still was cold but ended up falling right to sleep.

Woke up at 2pm felling a bit better. Still cold even though the temperature in my room was above 80 degrees. It is the day before Easter so I must once again push to get ready. The family is having dinner together at LongHorn Steakhouse at 4:30.

Not wanting to drive I ride with my sister and nephew. We meet up with everyone else – 2 uncles, cousin, mom, dad, grandfather – at LongHorn close to a half hour late. I was moving slow. Dinner was nice. Yesterday was grandpa’s birthday so we order him a strawberry and cream shortcake that he enjoyed eating more at home than at the diner.

Along the way home my sister had to make a few stops. We went to Kohl’s to pick up an Easter shirt for my nephew. I basically say down on a shirt display to rest my legs the entire time. I also picked up a pair of really nice looking shades on the way out. The next stop was Target. My sister thought she had a coupon for the yogurts that I like but at the register could not pull through. Good thing they were on sale. Oh, I also bought a pair of jeans that I have been desperately looking for.

Home at 10:45pm and straight to bed with the heater once again on max.

During some point of the day I finished my book! On to a new book for April!
